SmartCare Project:
SmartCare is a CDC initiated, nationally scaled Electronic Health Record (EHR) system designed in and for ‘developing contexts’. It is a joint effort with the Zambia Ministry of Health. The system is based on Microsoft technology. The SmartCare solution has the objective of improving the quality of health care by engineering the means to deliver ‘Continuity of Care’ where existing paper systems are failing to preserve a longitudinal data view, and where clinics may often have no telecommunications.
Position Description and Purpose:
The SmartCare Programme has reached national training and deployment stage. This has led to more training activities, led by the Ministry of health. The position will serve a first point of contact for user support. The position will ensure that al users calls and requests for support are received, documented, resolved or communicated forward for resolution, and followed up.
Essential Responsibilities
- Will serve as point for all user based communication from SmartCare users
- Will visibly keep track of all user calls and actions
- Will maintain a “Frequently Asked Questions” list
- Will ensure that all requests for support are appropriately resolved
- Will periodically call users (preventive calls) to ensure that the system is running and being used as expected
- Will ensure that all user experiences are well documented in user materials (manuals, videos, posters etc)
- Provide feedback to the team with regards to general user experience (via standard procedures – meetings, email etc)
- Performs any other duties as assigned
Required Experience:
- At least 1 year work experience
- Work in similar position an added advantage
Required Qualifications/Skills:
- Computer Science Diploma / Degree or related field
- Highly computer literate in MS Office products with exposure to information management systems
- Fluent spoken and written English
- Highly organized
- Detail orientated
- Able to communicate in diverse working environments
- Able to represent the organization to local, national and international partners & stakeholders
- Team player
